Where is the Writing Center & when is it open?

 

The Writing Center is located at the Touro College Main Campus:

We are open Monday through Friday throughout the semester:

Monday-Thursday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

How can The Writing Center help me?

The Writing Center assists graduate students from the six graduate schools of the Division of Graduate Studies to become stronger academic writers and more effective graduate-level readers. We review writing and reading assignments and provide guidance that helps to improve our students' writing and reading skills. For more information click here.

Staff with extensive experience will provide small group and individual instruction. The Writing Center offers services that include:

  • an in-class and online writing course (EDDN515: Strengthening Writing and Reading Skills)
  • in-person and online tutoring
  • career development writing
  • workshops focusing on capstone projects; research paper preparation; English Language Learners; APA format guidelines, resume and cover letter writing, preparing model written responses for NYS certification exams, and applications for scholarships
  • free writing enhancement resource materials for candidates to use throughout their studies at Touro College

Student writing samples will be reviewed by The Writing Center staff to identify specific areas of need.

Ongoing seminars are available and tutoring sessions may be scheduled as needed for 30 minutes each.
