What is the Academic Literary Skills Test?

Beginning in May 2014 all Graduate School of Education students seeking New York State teacher certification will be required to take and pass four tests including the Academic Literary Skills Test (ALST). • reading comprehension skills
  • grammar review
  • writing to a source
  • organizing thoughts and creating an outline
  • building an essay paragraph by paragraph
  • reducing test anxiety
  • time mamagement
