According to the Encyclopædia Britannica, "Geriatrics is the branch of medical science concerned with the prevention and treatment of diseases in older people; it is thus a part of the broader field of gerontology."
Geriatrics not only encompasses the biological and physiological aspects of aging, but the psychological aspects as well.
