Welcome to the Touro Libraries - Staff Web Page! This guide will contain shared librarian resources and links to TC resources for quick reference. It's main focus is to support the professional development and lifelong learning of our library staff through workshops & webinars, monthly meetings, group readings and discussions, etc.
How can I collaborate with other TCL staff right now?
Staff across the TCL are working on several projects to get faculty and students settled into virtual classrooms and work. If you are planning to work on a project that others may also be working on (i.e., a LibGuide, tutorial, etc.), please reach out to others before beginning, so work is not duplicated or wasted.
Use Microsoft Teams to get in touch with colleagues quickly.
How can I support faculty in Canvas?
To support faculty in Canvas, you might take on the role of a "TA" - you can add content to courses and answer student questions, but you will not have access to their grades. Faculty must request the addition of a TA by sending the name and Touro ID number of the staff person to help.touroone@touro.edu
What is the status of ILL?
Due dates should be considered to be current, but may be extended based on changes in the operating status of TCUS after that time. Patrons requesting scans and physical books will see limited availability as other libraries are cutting down on in-house staff for the time being; journal articles and other online resources will be easier to get. Patrons should continue to use our ILL form, rather than making requests via another channel, so there is a single record for each request.
If you are in imminent danger dial 911. All other emergencies to speak with a live operator at any time, call Touro’s 24 Hour Hotline at 1-88-Touro911 (1-888-687-6911).
