Like other works, visual and creative works are also protected by copyright once they are in a fixed medium (or once your idea or art have been put down on paper, so to speak). The nature of visual works means that the media used can confuse copyright owners and users as to what is protected and what each party is allowed to do. The resources on this page are intended to provide an overview of issues as play when dealing with the copyright and fair use of visual works. For more help, please contact a librarian.
