Introduction

According to the Encyclopædia Britannica, orthopedics is the "medical specialty concerned with the preservation and restoration of function of the skeletal system and its associated structures, i.e., spinal and other bones, joints, and muscles."

Orthopedics employs techniques from a wide array of medical fields. Some of which include, physical medicine & rehabilitation, occupational therapy, physical therapy, sports medicine, pharmacology and surgery.
